Again as part of the huge Paradiski area, that Le Plangne sits in the middle of, Les Arcs comprises 4 main villages / accommodation centres Arc1600, Arc1800, 1950 and 2000.
The original and lower altitude 1600 & 1800 are a combination of large apartment style blocks that offer ski in ski out holidays. Built in the 70’s some of these facilities are getting dated now but are still ideally located.
The newer 1950 and 2000 resorts are as the names suggest higher up the hill and more modern. Although we do personally find the resorts lacks significant charm it more than makes up for it with its superb skiing.
We love the altitude on offer here topping out on the Aiguille rouge range. The wide open pistes lower down are ideal for intermediates and the tree lined skiing is ace when the weather comes in. Some excellent steep skiing on offer higher up for the more advance of you and the off piste is world class but remember to always book a guide unless you are very capable and very familiar with the terrain.
