Carbon neutral ski holiday transfers

Responsible environmental tourism should be part of every travel company's strategy and here at GAT we are committed to ensuring your holiday transfer has as little impact on the pristine alpine environment as possible.

At the end of the day it's reassuring to know your ski transfer with Geneva airport transfers is carbon neutral.

We offset all our vehicles carbon emissions annually using a local French company Climat Mundi. We have chosen their program as it enables us to calculate exact vehicle model CO2 output. This in turn gives more accurate and precise offset values making sure your ski transfer has as little impact on the environment as possible.

Our vehicle fleet:

Geneva-Airport-Transfers (GAT) has always chosen our vehicles with customer comfort, safety and also fuel efficiency in mind.

Our vehicle of choice is the new Renault Traffic 100 & 115. Engine performance is fit for purpose without being too powerful (hence increasing emissions) unlike some other transfer companies who use the 150 engine!

Key vehicle figures:

  • Euro 4 engine emissions standards
  • 214 g/km CO2
  • Fuel economy: 40.3 mpg Extra Urban
  • Low wind drag resistance

In addition to this our vehicles are serviced regularly and their type pressures checked almost daily. This helps to give the best performance, safety and economy.

Our drivers practice efficient driving techniques wherever possible without compromising safety. This can reduce fuel consumption and hence CO2 emissions by 10 - 20%.

GAT's top 5 eco-driving tips:

  1. Monitor your engine revs - change up a gear before 2,000rpm (diesel) to increase fuel efficiency.
  2. Anticipate the road conditions and drive smoothly, avoiding sharp acceleration and heavy braking.
  3. Use air conditioning only when necessary as it significantly increases fuel consumption.
  4. Drive away immediately when starting from cold. Ticking over increases engine wear and destroys your fuel economy 0MPG.
  5. Check your tyre pressure regularly. Non-correctly inflated tyres can increase fuel consumption by up to 3%.
